Opticon WP6 research Partners

WP6 is led by AIP in Potsdam, with each group contributing to different aspects of the research.

AIP

The group at AIP is led by Roger Haynes. They specialise in many areas of astrophotonics, in particular, fibre development, including fibre bragg gratings and photonic lanterns.

Heriot-Watt University

The group at Heriot-Watt University is led by Robert Thomson. They specialise in Ultrafast Laser Inscription of devices, including photonic lanterns, reformatters and microlens manufacture.

University of Bath

The group at University of Bath is led by Tim Birks. They specialise in the design and fabrication of novel optical fibres and tapered fibre devices, such as photonic lanterns.

Durham University

The group at Durham University is led by Tim Morris. They specialise in combining Adaptive Optics and Astrophotonics, in particular developing photonic wavefront sensors.

University of Hertfordshire

The group at University of Hertfordshire is led by Hugh Jones. They specialise in high resolution spectroscopy.

University of Heidelberg

The group at University of Heidelberg is led by Robert J. Harris. They specialise in development of new prototype astrophotonic devices for use in astronomy.
